Q: Do these have a texture to them or do they get slippery when wet? Wanting to use as bathroom flooring as well as mud room flooring

They aren’t super slippery but with enough water, I can imagine they could be. We have them on our bathroom floor (not in the shower) and have never had an issue.A: These tiles have a smooth surface, but a matte finish, so they can be somewhat slippery with a lot of water, but not so much in a bathroom floor with an occasional splash. Would not recommend for a shower floor. -
Q: What is the best cleaning solution for the antracite tile? Thank you
A: Hoping someone else can help answer this question too as I have only found that water mixed with a little dish soap and vinegar helps. Spray evenly and let sit for a couple minutes. Microfiber cloth to wipe clean. -
Q: Would this work outside?
A: Hi, yest this tile can be used outdoorsA: The tile itself would work outside. However I would put your investigatory questions to which type of mortar/thinset would work best outside in the climate you reside in. Good luck! -
Q: Do the Paige Anthracite unglazed 10" hex tiles require (or benefit from) a sealer after installation?
A: All tiles benefit from a post-install sealant. It helps the grout stay strong as wellA: The tile are glazed so they do not need to be sealed.A: Mine have been installed about 3.5 years without sealing and are still perfect!A: We did not use a sealer on the tile, only on the grout. The tile still look great! -
Q: I want to use this tile on a bathroom floor and carry it into the shower floor...does water leave marks on it once dry? I'm trying to find a black hexagon that will still look clean after water being on it. I plan to have a zero threshold and line drain so I can use this larger size.
A: Watermarks would depend on the pitch of the drain, as well as if the water is hard or not. -
Q: What are the exact dimensions of these tiles? Point-to-point is different than flat-to-flat I presume.. so both can't be 10".

Q: Is the recommended black char grout darker than the Andracite tile? We are looking for a grout that’s slightly lighter than the tile itself (not darker), so wondering if we should go with a different color grout, like maybe the French grey.
A: I used this tile in a Client’s powder room and it was beautiful. I used a slightly lighter colored grout, a gray like you are thinking. It shows off the shape of the tile nicely. I would recommend that.A: We used the grout that tilebar recommends and it's a tad lighter. I really love it! -
Q: Does the matte finish have a chalky feel or is it smooth?
A: This material is a matte finish, so it does not feel like a smooth gloss. I would suggest ordering a sample so you can see and feel the material in person. -
Q: What is the spacing used for layout of hex? Also, where did you buy grout?
A: We suggest 1/8th"-1/16th" groutlines. Additionally I suggest the Laticrete Permacolor Bright White Grout for contrast.A: Spacing was 1/8". Bought grout at Home Depot.A: We used quarter inch spacers and got a light grey grout from Lowe’s. Turned out great! -
Q: The only review said that there is extreme color and size variations. Have you found this to be the problem as well or were they consistent? I know it is concrete look so a little variation is expected.
A: The slightly color variation wasn't a problem for me. This tile looks great.A: Hi Alison, There is color variation within this tile as you can see from the photos - there will be different shades of dark gray. I love the way it came out, leaving my new bathroom looking clean and classy.
I will disclose as with any porcelain tile is to be careful as workers accidentally dropped a tool and chipped one. It?s tiny, nothing the rug couldn?t cover.
