Q: What size spacers are recommended for this tile?
A: We used a 3/8 space, however, the tile is not square (one of the beauty points) and you will find yourselves going from 1/4 to 1/2, but is turns out great. We love it.A: It really depends on what kind of grout line you want to see. We spaced ours pretty close together because we wanted to see the irregularities in the tile since they are a handmade look. The wider the grout lines, the more even the installation and the less you will see those irregularities. -

Q: Is this tile suitable for shower walls? Does it craze?
A: This material is suitable for shower wall installation.A: The Lancaster tile series is perfect for showers. The slightly irregular shape gives a hand-made style. I’ve not know this tile to craze at all.A: There is no crazing of the glaze on my tiles. I would think it would be fine for a shower wall, the glaze is vitrified. I am using them for my kitchen and behind my sink. They are really very nice looking tiles. They look individually made without that fake handmade look.A: U would not use them in shower walls because the edges are noy smooth and would be hard to keep clean.
Looks great as backsplash.A: There is no crazing to this tile but because of the handmade quality of the tile the grout lines will be irregular which may make it harder to keep clean.A: We have it in our shower and have had no problems. We used a penny round tile on the floor. I see no cracking at all. I think it is a beautiful tile. -
Q: I am close to purchasing the Lancaster Vanilla tile. What color grout would you recommend? I'm thinking I want a grout that blends rather than have a grout color that would stand out. Thank you.
A: If your preference is to blend with the vanilla tile, use a light grout. (I actually purchased both color grouts before we started our project. Once the tile was spaced, I could see I liked the look of the "shadows" between the tiles. That is when I knew the darker grout was for me. It coordinates well with the cream, chocolate, and caramels in my granite countertop.)A: Hi Anita. I used Polyblend sanded grout and matching sanded caulk in their Linen color. It is a similar color to the tile and I choose it as I did not want much contrast for my kitchen backsplash project. Also I wanted a grout that would not discolor in a few years like pure white grout will.A: We used a brown grout because we have antiqued white cabinets around the perimeter of the kitchen and a dark brown island. I was nervous about it but it turned out perfect. It's a great blend, combining the colors throughout the kitchen. Good luck!A: I purchased grout at a local masonry tile store. I purchased Biscuit colorA: I have not yet installed mine, however I will be going with a grout that blends as well.A: Yes, definitely go with the same color. We chose this tile for our kitchen backsplash and chose a grout to match. It looks great, and we get lots of compliments. This tile is not perfectly rectangular -- it has character in that it looks a bit rough around the edges. We decided that a dark contrast grout would take away from that look. You will really like this tile. KathyA: We used Quartz Lock grout in a Birch color which blends well and compliments our counter top. If not Birch, I'd go with a Creme color if you don't want it to stand out.
Quartz Lock is a little spendy but highly recommended because you will never have to seal the grout and it is anti bacterial and anti mold. Care must be taken to follow the directions applying to small sections at a time. But it is well worth the extra money and time to do it once and forget it, unlike grout which needs to be resealed every year.A: I just had it installed in a shower and love it! I will find out what the grout color is this morning. The grout we used blends in well I think. If you want a picture let me know. On the downside, the tile guys did not think it was an easy install. It truly looks handmade and is a little wavy.A: I'd recommend one of these two -

A great look!
We remodeled our bathroom and used the black tiles in the picture. The shower was a show stopper. I designed the bathroom makeover, withe the tiles placed vertically, and lined up grid-style with white grout. My contractor tried to talk me out of it, but he was so impressed he repeated the style for other customers who loved it and used the same tiles.
We later remodeled a second bathroom and used the same tiles, this time in white. It also turned out looking extremely nice. -

Pencil liner
Looks great and matches the corresponding subway tile. One thing to note is that the pencil liner is unfinished on the edges (like the subway tile). So for a finished edge, recommend chair rail or bullnose tile.

Beautiful handmade tile
The tile looks great and is just what we hoped for. My only reason for not giving a 5 star is that the glue protecting each tile was difficult to remove and I've purchased previous tiles from Lowe's that came right off so I know it's possible.

Subtle, yet powerful tile.
Very beautiful with subtle movement that looks luxurious. The tile is thick and if you're worried about cracking, you shouldn't. My contractor didn't like working with it at first and recommended getting tile with less variation in the tile edging. But after seeing a whole shower wall with it? well he was impressed as well.
