General Notes

  • All installations should refer to the most current TCNA manual. Tile Council of North America 864.464.8453 Home - The Tile Council of North America (tcnatile.com)
  • All TileBar installation instructions are suggestions. Specific installation questions should be brought to a local tile professional.
  • Follow directions on all materials, especially mixing quantities.
  • Inspect all materials before using to make sure there are no defects. Installation is acceptance, material claims will not be entertained after install.
  • Blending different boxes of tile is recommended before and during installation.
  • Ensure proper Safety – PPE (ex: Gloves)
  • Q: What width to use for tile edge protector trim?  Will 3/8" be sufficient?

A: Hi Matt, the tile is 9mm. I usually recommend going up a size to account for grout and thinset. 1/2 would do just fine.

    TileBar C.

  • Q: Is there a pattern for this tile, or is it best installed “randomly”?

A: The tile pieces are assorted. You can lay them randomly and any which lay pattern you would like. There's a lot of creative freedom while installing it.

    TileBar C.

A: We installed it randomly. It has a shine that makes the subtle pattern shifts blend in. We still love how this tile makes our backsplash look both modern and fabulous.

    Erin L.

    A: Random

    Sarah M.

A: We went random and it works out well.

    Victoria D.

  • Q: Does the textured pattern make this tile hard to clean?

A: We used this tile in our shower and as a backsplash in the bathroom sink area. The texture was not a problem - could easily wipe it with a sponge or cloth to keep it glossy. In the shower we were in the habit of using a squigee on the walls and glass doors - never had any water spots or deposits on the tile. Absolutely love this tile.

    Debra S.

A: No. The tiles surface is glossy and water resistant. The textured grooves are not too deep and easy to clean with a sponge.

    Rob R.

    A: Not at all

    Victoria D.

  • Q: When you pair this tile with other white tile - should the white tile be matte or glossy?

A: We have this tile in a shower and it has a gloss to it so probably glossy as well unless you wanted that contrast for some reason

    Joshua P.

A: This tile has a gloss, so I'd lean toward a white glossy tile too. But gloss and matte together can work also. You might want to look at it with both and see, if you have the chance to do that. If not, probably go with glossy. Good luck! So many decisions, I know.

    Nomi L.

    A: Probably glossy

    Jennifer O.

    A: I’d go matte.

    Moira O.

  • Q: How long does it take to ship?

A: It depends on your location. Once you place your order it should ship within 2-4 business days.

    Ayelet R.

    A: About a week

    Anne G.

  • Q: Can this tile be installed in a steam shower?

A: Yes! We installed it in our steam shower and it looked great.

    Carolyn P.

A: Absolutely. Porcelain or ceramic is fine for steam showers. What matters most is what you do behind the tile (waterproofing).

    Scott M.

  • Q: What is the square footage per box? If there are 38 tiles per box, and each tile is 2*8, then wouldn't the square footage be 4.2 rather than the 5.38 advertised?

A: There are 5.38 sq. ft per box.
These tiles are nominal in sizing, the exact measurements are 2.5" x 7.85".

    Sara K.

A: After the grout spacing is factored in, you get a larger area of coverage.

    anna H.

  • Q: Does this tile come in a 3 x 6 size?

A: This tile does not come in a 3x6" size format.

    Sara K.

  • Q: Would like to confirm the dimensions of the Enigma Ash Blue 2x8 tile. Online the tile size says 2x8. The actual tile I received is 2.5in wide. Is that standard for all the tiles, is the 2in incorrect online?

    A: This material is 2.5" x 7.85".

    Sara K.

  • Q: Is the tile 2" or 2.5"? I just got a sample of the tile and the width is 2.5" instead of 2".

    A: This material is 2.5" x 7.85".

    Sara K.

beautiful handmade tiles, but watched out for imperfections, may be every 40-50 tiles, there is a bad one, we missed this, so in our shower walls there are 3 tiles that have discoloration or imperfection.

  • ★★★★★ Beautiful tiles for an accent wall

We absolutely love the enigma ash blue tiles! We love that it adds a little extra interest/texture to the niche in our shower as well as the wall behind our soaking tub. We went with a grout that matched the darker shade of blue in the tiles and love the look. Since the niche was a smaller space, we created a pattern which a few of the patterns of tiles and love that its a bit more uniform. The herringbone wall behind the tub is more of a random pattern.

  • ★★★★☆

A bit darker than we would expect. We thought it would be white pale blue, but the color is closer to blue gray. Anyway the texture still looks great, it makes the bathroom a bit more vibrant. A great complement with texstone gris deco

  • ★★★★★ Fabulous Tile!

We love the look and feel of this tile. It's gorgeous and looks even better laid out in a herringbone pattern. Even the installers were impressed with it.

  • ★★★★★ Beautiful

Beautiful tile! I love how it's a traditional subway tile with a twist of pattern and texture.

  • ★★★★★ Love it!

We love this ash blue tile. The color and shine are what made me want this tile but the texture is what makes it so special. We love how the kitchen backsplash turned out.
