Rustic edges with a modern clean look, and will look good with white counters and cabinets.
Sherry H on Feb 15, 2019
We were looking for a mix between a white and gray tile, but something not every other house has. Our style is vintage farmhouse and this tile has great texture and depth to it. We're going to use a dark gray grout to compliment our cream and gray cabinets.
Amanda J. on Dec 24, 2018
I love the rustic look and the gray color is perfect! Exactly what I was looking for

We were looking for a subway tile to match our existing counter tops and we liked the rustic industrial feel of this tile. And the uniqueness.

Amazing look!! I combined it with bronze hardware.
Jocelyn T on Oct 12, 2018

I received sample and it matches pictures to a tee! I love it because the texture adds softness to what is otherwise a very heavy look.
Kim A on Oct 1, 2018
The color variation of the tile.

The look. I wanted a rustic handmade looking tile to work with the exposed brick wall we have in the kitchen.

looking for an elegant update for our kitchen backsplash that would tie in the brown tones from our cabinets with our light gray walls.

We received the sample we ordered from you and we loved it. Reviews were also helpful. We are looking forward to receiving our tiles and we have many more projects as flippers. Hope we can do a lot more business with you.

A subway tile with character! Using this for a kitchen backsplash with white cabinets and granite countertop. Plain enough for granite but appears to be “weathered”.
Leslie S on May 31, 2018
my new kitchen is all white. I am hoping this will add both a small pop of color and texture without subtracting from the sunniness of the room
vandy w on May 19, 2018
Love the rustic yet elegant look of there tiles. Love at first sight!
Deborah P on May 16, 2018
Has an old world industrial vibe.
theresa f on Apr 23, 2018
I love the look of it for my new kitchen.
Christy B on Apr 12, 2018
This tile ticks a lot of boxes for the kitchen backsplash where a client is looking for a ceramic tile with some character and visual texture. This is the 2nd project I am using it for, and both have white cabinets with gray glaze. I do wish it came in other sizes, and possibly shapes. Note, that the glaze detail is on the edges, so the tile pattern must be designed to minimize cuts, and locate them against walls or cabinets if possible.
Laura V on Apr 6, 2018
I wanted an old world brick look and these tiles are beautiful.
Susan O on Mar 19, 2018
I chose this tile because our existing floors are dark slate. I did not want a natural stone backsplash and this tile has the earthy vibes and colors that will go well with our cream cabinets and slate flooring.
Lesley Z on Mar 9, 2018
Loved the antique tile look
Teresa B on Feb 16, 2018
Rustic yet modern feel to the tile as well as its high gloss finish.

It's warm and Clean and versatile for design options
Helene on Nov 22, 2017
It looks warm and less sterile. I need more, but wanted to see it before I bought all that I need. Returning online purchases is a pain and one tile is not enough to see if it will work.
lizzy on Nov 14, 2017
Love the combo of rustic & glam :)
Virginia G on Nov 13, 2017
I love the vintage-modern feel of this tile, it looks hand cut and is the perfect gray for our kitchen. I hope once installed it will give a little bit of a textured look to the kitchen, which is largely white with cliean lines.
Heather T on Oct 26, 2017
Liked the option of using this as the trim on a backsplash.
Barbara B on Aug 19, 2017
Did not want the run of the mill subway tile. Wanted something in gray, unique, modern and with some variation to look more handmade.

I would like to see a picture of this tile as backsplash with white cabinets. Can anyone download one?
lizzy on Nov 11, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I was going to do white...then my contractor did a small section in white just to show me cause he didn't think I'd like it and he was right. I went with a gray
Can this tile be installed in shower/wet areas?
McKenzie H on Jan 3, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I would check the water absorption rate in the description to see where it falls against your needs. I am using for a kitchen backspash...........
Can this tile be installed ‘stacked’ rather than ‘grouted’? Wanting to use it from floor up to mid-wall/just under mirror in small bathroom (area not needing to be waterproof/sealed)
Ang W on Jun 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: This tile can definitely be installed in a stacked pattern (straight rows instead of the staggered brick pattern). This tile does need to be grouted. This tile is made by hand and is high fired. This causes a considerable amount of variation in size and thickness. With handmade tile we always recommend larger grout joints to account for these irregularities.
How to waterproof for use in shower?
EJ M on Aug 21, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Tiles themselves are not often "waterproofed". Waterproofing should be done to the underlaying substrate, and intergraded appropriately to the shower floor pan to drain assembly. Many options to effectively route any water that may get behind the tile or grout, because tile cannot be counted on to waterproof a shower. If you want to check how resistant the tile is to water check it's specs and rating sheet. Hope that helps.
Is there brown around the edge of this tile?
Jeanne P on Jul 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes..sort of a rusty brown. It's beautiful tile! Very pleased with the appearance.

I’m in love with this tile! Has anyone installed this for a Kitchen
Backsplash? Concerned about the length. Would love to see pictures if you have used in your kitchen.
Connie R on Apr 12, 2018
I initially bought this tile for my kitchen backsplash, but the gray was too close in color to my I used it in my laundry room! I removed the cabinets and put up floating shelves from Ikea. This tile is AWESOME! It cuts easily (I was able to make all the cuts myself with a small tile cutter) and it didn't crumble or break funny like the ones I used in the kitchen. The color is gorgeous and just enough shine to look clean, not overdone. I am in love with my new laundry room!
What manufacturer makes this tile 3x12 Ceremic Tile? Castle Hazy Trail
Vicky G on Nov 15, 2018
BEST ANSWER: So sorry, but we’re not sure although my husband thought the boxes were from Spain. Tile Bar would probably be able to answer that one. Good luck!
What color of grout would you recommend?
Geanie on Jan 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I would recommend a light gray grout, like Bostik Lunar.

Tile must be installed over a suitable substrate to insure a proper installation. Tile should be installed over a clean, sound, and flat surface, free of contaminates including curing compounds. Substrate should be free of cracks. If used in a wet area you must waterproof. See manufacturer's recommendation on a membrane for crack and water protection that is compatible with the setting material you are using. Expansion joints should be installed at all changes in plane in the tile work and where tile abuts restraining surfaces, therefore silicone caulking sealant must be installed in all corner joints in place of grout.

  • We always recommend dry-fitting your pattern first to think about your cuts in advance and to make sure you like the pattern. This will also help you choose which pieces go where, which is especially helpful with tiles that have a lot of variation.
  • To avoid affecting the color of the tile, white thinset such as Bostik PM is highly is recommended for all installations. For faster installation, use a rapid curing thinset such as Bostik Single-Flex Fast Set.
  • Apply as much adhesive as can be covered within 10-15 minutes.
  • Grout joint should be a minimum of 1/16” and not butt set.
  • The optimal trowel size is a 9" Trowel - 1/8" square notch.

  • This tile is made by hand and is high fired. This causes a considerable amount of variation in size and thickness.  With handmade tile we always recommend larger grout joints to account for these irregularities.
  • Grout joints should be packed full and free of voids and pits.
  • Clean excess grout as the work progresses before it has hardened completely.
  • Acids should never be used for cleaning grout haze.
  • Use a damp sponge for the final cleaning and to smooth out the grout joints.
  • Both Sanded and Non-Sanded grouts are acceptable for use. We recommend Sanded grout for joints larger than 1/8 inch and Non-Sanded for 1/8th inches or less.
  • It is recommended to use grout release, then grout the tile, then use a sealant to the tile such as MP90
  • Highly recommended to purchase the Polished Porcelain Maintenance Kit.

The recommended cutting method is to use a wet saw with a diamond blade. Edges can be sanded smooth after cutting.
