Q: The sample we bought has one 3inch side glazed white. Are all the tiles glazed on one short edge, or was this a fluke? It would be awesome to avoid the need for pencil tile trim!
A: Sounds like you got a bullnose tile and not the regular tile. The sample we got was 8" long.A: Yes, all glazed on one side. We did not do pencil trim. -
Q: What is the water adsorption rating for this tile? Please be specific.
A: The water absorption is 0.1. -
Q: What is the difference between Lancaster Bianco and Manchester Bianco? They look the same to me.
A: The biggest difference is that the Lancaster has a handmade edge, while the Manchester has a stright edge. -
Q: Can this be apply on the gypsum wall board (drywall) and using acrylic wall tile adhesive?
A: I did it in my kitchen- it look great and has held up just fine. I wish I could send you an image of it. I did it for my backsplash and went 6 rows high with it. It has withstood a gas cooktop and my sink... I recommend thin set instead of tile adhesive... but the drywall is not a big deal. If you are a purist, then putting up concrete board/ red guard/ etc. is the way to go... but for a low impact area... sure. For a shower or wet area, that is a big NO. You need to use red guard/ concrete board. But just for low impact areas... no big deal.A: It can , it just can’t get wetA: It's generally best to install tile to Hardiebacker (cement wall board) or a cement floated wall for any "wet" area like a kitchen or bathroom. I would ask the manufacturer about the appropriate adhesive.A: Yes, but we recommend using this thinset instead:A: That is exactaly what we did for a kitchen backsplash and it worked out great. -
Q: Does this tile need to be sealed before grout is applied?
A: no, it it's a sealed tile to begin withA: You do not need to seal this tile before grouting, but can use a grout release to ease the clean-up after grouting!A: No! -
Q: Is there a corner bullnose that coordinates with this? I am putting this as wainscoting around a few walls and need corner pieces.
A: We do have a corresponding bullnose with this collection. At this time, we do not have a corner bullnose, but you can cut the bullnose pieces at an angle to meet in the corner.A: I could not find a bullnose tile but there is one end that has more glaze than the other end and I used that on the end. I could not find a bullnose for the top, but I used it under my cabinets. If you fine one please let me know as I think it would look more finished if a bullnose was used.A: I don't believe so. The look is handmade, so it's very uneven, which would contradict the bull nose. -
Q: Does this come in a matte finish?
A: This product is only available in a polished finish. -
Q: What is the thickness?
A: The tile is ~3/8" but has a fair amount of variation as it doesn't appear to be pressed with a machine into uniformity. They look beautiful though.A: 8 mm thick -
Q: Hi! Is the Lancaster Bianco a cold, pure/ice white, or is it a warm white/slightly off-white? My cabinets are Benjamin Moore Simply White, if that helps. Thanks!
A: More of a pure white and we also have pure white cabinets and used biscuit grout to go with beige walls.A: Hi! My cabinets are Simply White, too! The tile works beautifully with them! We've gotten so many wonderful comments about our finished kitchen.A: Hello! We recently installed the Lancaster Bianco in one of our custom homes, which had Sherwin Williams Pure White cabinets. That color is very similar to your BM Simply White. The color looks GREAT with the Bianco Tile. I would not say the tile is a cold/ice white color. It IS white, but with just a HINT of warmth to it. I think if you did the creamier color in the Lancaster it might look to creamy with your cabinets. Q: Is this tile a true bright white, or off-white? How do dove and vanilla compare, color wise?
A: Just finished installing the Bianco in my kitchen. Wanted to get away from anything cream of off white and get into the grey tones and this fits perfectly. Put it with bright white painted cabinets and grey countertops. It is definitely WHITE. Can't speak for Vanilla but Dove was pretty just ended up being to dark for the look I was going for. Looks awesome. I can't comment on dove or vanilla but the Blanco is white.A: Sorry, don't know the answer. We only ordered a sample for another house. We won't be back there for a while and don't really remember the specifics, other than it was white. Suggest ordering a sample.A: It is a true white. Dove is gray. I would recommend getting samples to see how the colors look in the environment you intend to place them in.

A great look!
We remodeled our bathroom and used the black tiles in the picture. The shower was a show stopper. I designed the bathroom makeover, withe the tiles placed vertically, and lined up grid-style with white grout. My contractor tried to talk me out of it, but he was so impressed he repeated the style for other customers who loved it and used the same tiles.
We later remodeled a second bathroom and used the same tiles, this time in white. It also turned out looking extremely nice. -

Pencil liner
Looks great and matches the corresponding subway tile. One thing to note is that the pencil liner is unfinished on the edges (like the subway tile). So for a finished edge, recommend chair rail or bullnose tile.

Beautiful handmade tile
The tile looks great and is just what we hoped for. My only reason for not giving a 5 star is that the glue protecting each tile was difficult to remove and I've purchased previous tiles from Lowe's that came right off so I know it's possible.

Subtle, yet powerful tile.
Very beautiful with subtle movement that looks luxurious. The tile is thick and if you're worried about cracking, you shouldn't. My contractor didn't like working with it at first and recommended getting tile with less variation in the tile edging. But after seeing a whole shower wall with it? well he was impressed as well.
